USC Aiken IHSA Team

Zone 5, Region 3

Megan is the coach of the University of South Carolina, Aiken IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) Team. Competing with ten other schools in Zone 5, Region 3, and over 400 colleges and universities nationally, USC Aiken has a team that is quickly becoming one of the top schools in the region. Hosted out of the beautiful Bridlewood Farm in Aiken, we participate in 8 shows per season in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. For more information about the team, visit their website at USCA IHSA

J & B Equestrian IEA Team

Zone 4, Region 8

Megan also coaches both middle and high school IEA teams out of J & B Equestrian in Appling, GA. Open to riders in 6th through 12th grade, the Interscholastic Equestrian Association gives students an opportunity to compete without owning their own horse or pony. As a small, cohesive team, the J & B girls enjoy traveling to shows in the Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina regions to compete against other teams in the Zone 4 area. Our students are required to lesson once/week (two of those lessons per month may be with another trainer) and participate in three unmounted horsemanship clinics throughout the season. These clinics help our riders become good horsewomen as well as better riders. Some focus on fitness and mental strength, while others include barn management skills, equine first aid and veterinary care, trailering, ground work, and other important aspects of barn life.
